Happy birthday to the woman who insists we’re not getting old while making a noise every time she stands up and checking restaurant reviews to see whether the seats have proper backs. We once stayed out until three in the morning. Now we discuss parking, comfortable shoes and whether somewhere will be too loud. Our exciting plans are increasingly followed by the words “but let’s see how we feel,” and cancelling them often brings more happiness than attending ever could. Still, we remain immature enough to laugh at completely inappropriate things and deluded enough to believe we could handle one more drink. We’re not old. We’re simply young people with lower energy, stronger opinions and considerably more tablets in our handbags. Still fabulous. Just nearer the toilet x
