A new job and a clean slate. For a brief, glorious moment, nobody there knows how long you can talk about a slightly inconvenient journey. You can become anyone you like: efficient, mysterious, someone who understands Excel. Try not to ruin it before the welcome biscuits. You'll spend the first week saying lovely to meet you to people whose names leave your head before they've finished speaking. Then you'll accidentally reply all and establish yourself properly. Pack your lunch, find the toilets and remember that confident people are often just confused people with better posture. You've got more to offer than you give yourself credit for.
