Happy Mother's Day, Mum. Another year of being right about things nobody asked you about, then waiting patiently for the rest of us to catch up. You've mastered the disappointed pause, the meaningful eyebrow and the phrase it's entirely up to you, which has never once meant that. You can turn a quick visit into three jobs and a full inspection of someone's coat. Your ability to locate missing possessions is frankly suspicious, and we'd investigate if we weren't so dependent on it. Underneath the bossing and the running commentary is a heart that never seems to run out of room for us. Thank you for every bit of love you've given.
