A PROPER DAY OFF

Happy Mother's Day. Today you're supposed to put your feet up while everybody else attempts the tasks you normally complete without a committee meeting. Breakfast may arrive cold, the kitchen may resemble a minor incident and someone will ask where the clean plates are while holding a cupboard open. Try to enjoy the thought. You've spent years keeping things moving, remembering what matters and carrying information the rest of us couldn't retain with a filing cabinet strapped to our heads. Even your relaxing involves spotting something that needs doing. We hope you let yourself be looked after today. You deserve the same patience, kindness and care you've always given us.
